To Deliver Turn-Key Integrated Direct Marketing Solutions
Pennington, N.J. – March 26, 2007 – Direct Group, a full-service provider of high-volume, high-quality direct marketing services, announced today the purchase of a Winkler & Dunnebier (W&D) high-speed envelope converter machine that will double the company’s envelope production capacity. The machine will help reduce clients’ project cycle time, cut total package costs, and streamline the production process. It will also allow Direct Group to maintain the print integrity of critical client components by keeping production of all pieces secure under one roof.
“Most firms need to outsource this function, which can add substantially to the costs of a project and affect efficiency and quality control,” said Chris Ryan, Executive Vice President of Direct Group. “In an environment where cost-control is critical, our purchase of this equipment reinforces our commitment to continually minimize expenses for our clients. By allowing Direct Group to print the envelope, clients have one fewer purchases to oversee and coordinate under tight in-home deadlines.”
The W&D machine produces 600 to 800 envelopes per minute and allows Direct Group to generate one million envelopes per day. In addition, the W&D envelope converter prints three colors on the outside and one color on the inside of each envelope, and the 3/1 reverse-angle doctor blade allows Direct Group to do so with a higher print quality than traditional methods.
The machine also features an electronic eye registration to convert envelopes printed on traditional offset presses. This feature affords Direct Group the ability to print rolls in up to 10 colors on their high-speed UV-cured offset presses and convert them into envelopes on the new machine.
“Our acquisition of this equipment is the latest example of Direct Group’s continuous investment in client-focused capabilities,” said Pat O’Brien, Direct Group Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing. “Our enhanced envelope capacity helps us provide a full-package solution to our clients.”
