Moves Build Upon Company’s Overarching Commitment to Client Success and Satisfaction
PENNINGTON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Direct Group, a full-service provider of high-volume direct marketing services, announced today the promotion of Pat O’Brien to Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing. In this role, O’Brien is responsible for sales for the full company, across all services and products. In addition, Executive Vice President Chris Ryan’s role has been expanded to include oversight of Service, Quality, Sales and Marketing.
A 14-year direct marketing industry veteran, O’Brien joined Direct Group in 2005 as Vice President, Sales & Business Development. From 1996 to 2005, O’Brien worked for Atlantic Envelope Company, becoming Vice President, Business Development in 2002. While at Atlantic, O’Brien received numerous company sales awards, including “Top Sales Producer” for four years running.
“Pat has been successful because he is an absolute professional on both the sales and service side of our business,” said Don McKenzie, Direct Group President and CEO. “He has a special ability to care for – and connect with – clients, understand their needs and deliver on-the-mark operational solutions. He is also a terrific leader and manager, and will play an important role for us, working under Chris Ryan to build and extend our overarching focus on client success and satisfaction.”
McKenzie said Ryan’s role is critical because it brings together four key parts of the business under one highly skilled individual who will ensure that all customers’ projects are optimally managed from start to finish.
“Chris’ commitment and hard work have helped our company earn a reputation as an industry leader,” said McKenzie. “Particularly given Chris’ background as a company founder and partner, we are thrilled to have him take up the responsibility of managing all elements of the customer experience.”
In addition to O’Brien, June Busch also will report to Ryan in her current role as Executive Vice President, Business Development. She will now play a greater role in overseeing the transition of new clients into the Direct Group organization, ensuring resources are matched to client requirements and that all elements of the customer experience are positive.
Other organizational changes include:

“We’re excited about these changes because we’re confident that these people, in these positions, can deliver for our current and potential clients,” said McKenzie. “This is the right group of talent, experience and passion to lead the company as we continue to drive success for our customers, and our company, in the future.”
